August begins with crypto markets stabilising rather than entering a clear new expansion phase. Liquidity remains concentrated in the two largest networks rather than spread broadly across speculative assets, so market breadth, not headline strength, is the condition worth watching.
Macroeconomic conditions remain the principal external risk. Policy is still restrictive, and incoming employment, inflation and producer price data can change liquidity expectations quickly. Regulation is more defined than a year earlier but is not settled, and asset specific enforcement, disclosure and market structure risk all remain.
